A business item is a container for a group of fields that contain data with the same meaning and values. It’s a representation of business data that you create within a business vocabulary for use in a Business Design environment inside WebSphere Business Compass and IBM(r) WebSphere Business Modeler (WBMP). Business items can be based on simple data types, such as strings, or on more complex types, such as a business object or WSDL message.
A company’s product portfolio is a set of goods and services that the business sells to consumers or other businesses, for example, office supplies and furniture, automotive parts, electronics, industrial equipment and chemicals. The products in a portfolio are usually not held in inventory, but rather are sold or provided on a made-to-order basis, or are delivered to a consumer via service.
Non-inventory items that are sold on a made-to-order basis include custom kitchen cabinets, handmade jewelry and other products that are produced once the business receives an order from a customer. Other made-to-order products that qualify as a business product include a variety of consumer goods, such as food, toys and sports equipment, and services, such as building or designing websites, cleaning or gardening.
In the context of product information management (PIM), a business item is used to identify and store business attributes for a specific item, including description, unit of measure, price, availability, sales terms and other characteristics. The business item is the most granular level of detail in the PIM hierarchy, and is typically maintained in a central repository in a single system of record. Using business items in your organization can help improve the quality of product data, increase the speed with which it is available to customers and simplify internal processes, freeing up time for more critical business tasks.여자창업
When you create a new business item, the following fields are displayed in the Business Item Properties window:
Display Name
Enter a display name for the business item that will appear to the business user when it is imported into the business vocabulary or viewed in WebSphere Business Compass and WBMP. The display name is also used to identify the business item in process maps and other business designs.
Implementation
The implementation of a business item is the business object or WSDL message on which it is based. When you create a new business item, you can select an implementation from the list, or you can configure your own implementation.후토루
Select this checkbox if the item is relevant for delivery (item category TAN). The system copies the business item into the sales document item of the related delivery note when you generate an inbound or outbound delivery.
