Uterine fibroids are common benign (not cancer) tumors of the uterus that grow large enough to cause symptoms. Symptoms may include heavy periods, pain or pressure in the lower abdomen or back, frequent urination and blood in the vaginal discharge. They can also affect fertility and a woman’s ability to get pregnant.

Fibroids can be diagnosed with a pelvic ultrasound or X-ray of the uterus. If a doctor suspects you have fibroids, he or she will ask about your health history and about the symptoms you have. A physical exam and lab tests, such as a blood screen, complete blood count and an electrocardiogram, are also usually done.
Symptoms of uterine fibroids can be managed with lifestyle changes, medications and treatments. Acupuncture, which involves placing thin needles into specific points on the body, has been shown to be effective in small studies for helping to shrink fibroid tumors and relieve other symptoms of uterine fibroids, including menstrual cramps, abnormal vaginal discharge, weight gain and anemia.
Women with uterine fibroids often report feeling better after treatment. But the results of a uterine myoma oriental clinic are not always consistent, so it’s important to find the right treatment for you and stick with it.자궁근종한의원
Some websites and health books promote alternative treatments for uterine fibroids, such as specific diet recommendations, magnet therapy, black cohosh or herbal preparations. But there is no scientific evidence that these techniques help.
If your symptoms are mild, you may be able to wait for them to go away on their own. If your symptoms are severe, you may need to take medication to treat them or surgery to remove the fibroids. A surgical procedure that removes the fibroid tissue but leaves your uterus in place is called a laparoscopic myomectomy or a transcervical radiofrequency ablation, sometimes called the Acessa or Lap-RFA procedure. This minimally invasive procedure is done inside an MRI scanner and uses ultrasound to guide the device that heats and destroys the fibroid tissue. A more invasive surgery that also removes your uterus is a hysterectomy.자궁내막증한의원
A procedure called uterine artery embolization uses a small tube — like a catheter — to insert a tiny particle, the size of a sand grain, into each of the two arteries that supply your uterus. Then X-rays are taken to see if the artery is blocked. If it is, your doctor will inject other particles, such as polyvinyl alcohol, to block the flow of blood to the fibroid.
A 47-year-old woman with uterine myoma had major symptoms such as underbelly pressure, menstrual pain, urinary frequency and vaginal discharge. She underwent traditional Korean medicine that included acupuncture treatment, moxibustion and pharmacopuncture for three months from January 16, 2018 to April 12, 2018. After treatment, her major symptoms were significantly improved. Her menstrual pain decreased from VAS 8 to VAS 5, urinary frequency reduced from 10 times a day to 6 times a day and vaginal discharge reduced from 3 days to 1 day.
